Tommy James enlists the help of T.O.N.E-z and Stevie Van Zandt to compose the perfect remake of his 1971 top five chart topper Draggin’ the Line in 2020 which is now streaming on Spotify. Tommy James featured Draggin’ the Line on his newest album “Alive” in 2019; it had been ten years since his last album.
Tommy James has long been known as a music innovator and masterful writer and producer, revered for his cutting edge work on his multiple platinum hits including “Crimson & Clover,” Mony Mony,” and “Crystal Blue Persuasion.”
“I'd been thinking about a remake of "Draggin' The Line" for a long time and felt that a street version might be perfect.” says Tommy. “I got ahold of T.O.N.E-z, who is a great friend and an amazing talent, to lay down a rap.
T.O.N.E.-z is an American musician, rapper, and actor best known for his Emmy nomination for the theme song to FX Network drama series "Justified," in which he also appeared as an actor. His latest single "The Parallel" ...about anti-bullying has reached over 1 million video plays on Facebook.
Tommy now has his own show on SIRIUS/XM RADIO – “Getting’ Together With Tommy James” – Sunday evenings from 5-8 pm on the 60’s at 6 channel and he continues to tour in the US!
